What do the Sons of AMVETS do?

The SONS of AMVETS Sponsor Various Community Projects. These include Americanism, legislative and scholarship programs, food drives and many others. The Sons also have an active and growing Veterans Hospital program on the local, state and national level.

The SONS of AMVETS were formed to help promote the Aims and Purposes of AMVETS. To serve our nation at all times and to help build and maintain the welfare of the United States of America, to move towards lasting prosperity and peace for all its inhabitants. To encourage the maintenance of the policies of our government, for the establishment of a concrete plan, to secure international peace and to assist in the maintenance of international peace for all.

To help unify divergent groups in the overall interests of American Democracy, and to train our youth to become purposeful citizens in a democracy with full knowledge of responsibilities as well as the privileges of citizenship. To Cooperate with all duly recognized Veterans Organizations and there subordinate groups in the furtherance of the aims of the American Veteran fought  and served to preserve peace, liberty and democracy for our nation.

The SONS of AMVETS encourages your membership in our organization, as we continue to serve our nation’s veterans. As time passes by and the veteran’s participation in our government is reduced, it becomes our responsibility as SONS of AMVETS to constantly remind our non-veteran government officials that free America would not be, if it were not for the American Veterans.
